.EU registration

The launch date for .EU has been announced. The launch of .EU will happen in several phases:
a Sunrise period, divided into two phases where owners of “prior rights” will be allowed to register their names and a Land Rush period.

Phase I of Sunrise will start 7 December 2005. This phase will run for 2 months and Sunrise II will start on 7 February 2006 and run for another two months. Open registrations (Land Rush), where registrations will be open to everyone starts on 7 April 2006.

Land Rush (as from 7 April 2006):
During this phase, all individuals and organizations can register their .EU domain name. This phase is based upon the principle “first-in, first-served”. This is often referred to as the ‘normal’ registration period.

Be aware that all domain names must apply to the following rules:

minimum 2 characters among the letters “a-z”, the numbers “0-9” and the hyphen (-)
maximum 63 characters
must not begin or end with a hyphen (-)
must not contain a hyphen (-) on the 3rd and 4th position
must not contain the official country codes (BE, NL, GB, …)

Note:

The registration of your .EU domain name via our website contains only the right to use your requested domain name.
This means that you can configure your dns servers within our client corner (login on our website required). Additional services as ‘domain forwarding’, ‘mail forwarding’ or others can be provided optionally.
